The 2019 Summer Hill Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Calistoga is deliberately different from the previous 2019 Summerhill release. The 2019 Reserve was Oak aged for 36 months in new french and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a multi-layered wine with aromatics of Black Cherry, Cola, Peppermint, dried tobacco leaf and black tea. Like the first release it is a rich, round, and big wine. The color is a deep rich purple. The mid-palette is round and mouth coating. On the pallette it's all about black cherry, pencil shavings, tobacco and viscosity. The finish is dramatic and soaks your tongue with black fruits, licorice and hints of pie crust and hints of spice. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and built to last, this wine is approachable now and for another decade.
