The 2023 Rutherford TADDEI Block is an elegant wine and beautiful example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Like its older siblings, the Rutherford Bench Cabernet Sauvignon screams elegance and class. On the nose the wine is floral, expressing violets, cassis, and dark stone fruits. The pallet is loaded with plum, cherries and raspberry, with finishing notes of toffee, leather, mocha and coffee notes. The 2023 Cabernet is consistent with its notes of cherry, crushed plum and leather with exceptionally soft tannins. However, it has an elegance that I notice early on suggests this wine will evolve into something very special. The vineyard continues to produce fruit that possess rich flavors coupled with dusty elements and soft tannin. Food pairing suggestions: hard cheeses, grilled vegetables, prime rib roast, New York strip steak, Filet Mignon.
